Vegan Tattooing!
After months of experimenting and research, all my tattooing is finally 100% vegan. The only thing that was holding me back was the ointment during the process. Typically oinments used have lanolin alcohol (yes like sheep’s wool), and it has very high amounts of petroleum (which is a depleting resource and shouldn’t belong in the skin). The process of making petroleum also consists of a vacuum filtration of the still substance through bone char.
So after experimenting with shea butters, coconut butters and other solutions, which liquefied from a solid form once my body heat through the glove made contact, or when placed on the clients skin, made it nearly impossible to work with and quite messy. Luckily, I received a sample of After Inked, a vegan lotion for use during tattooing, and as a moisturizer on new and old tattoos. And it's environmentally friendly. Brilliant. I am one of the tattooists who were selected to try out After Inked Tattoo Aftercare in Canada. After receiving a sample, I decided to try a little experiment: I tattooed two black stars on my knees (one on each knee) and used After Inked on one tattoo, and regular ointment on the other one.
Firstly, I will say that I was impressed with the packaging that After Inked came in. This type of bottle is very effective in discouraging contamination of said product. The consistency of After Inked was very nice, not too greasy, but very creamy feeling. I noticed it soaked into the skin and kept it moisturized quite well during the process, as opposed to the ointment, that tends to be greasy and stays on the surface of the skin, therefore it easily rubs off onto articles of clothing. After Inked doesn't do this.
My final analysis? I would carry this product in tattoo shops I work at and offer them for sale as a convenience to my customers. Thanks for allowing me to test this product for myself.

As I said, I put your product to the test, and would be the first one to say I’m a skeptic: always a new kid trying to sell another new better aftercare... however this time I’m totally impressed with the product. Incredible, there is nothing about After Inked that I don't like. It improved a color piece in 5 days, had no wrinkling as I so often get during the process. I honestly only had apply it 2x a day, it doesn’t get on your clothes and where you put it, it stays... light scent and it feels incredible on the skin. Used it from the first day, no burning at all... LOVE THIS STUFF. Our Studio has found a new aftercare that I will have no problem recommending to our customers...

I just wanted to write you and tell you that I love the After Inked cream I bought from you last month. If you remember, I purchased it from you because of the problem with my nose ring. I pierced my nose, but kept knocking it with my hair, towels and other things. I used a piercing spray but thenmy nose become red and irritated again. I finally decided to take out the ring, but was left with a large blister that did not respond to the piercing spray. At that point I purchased your cream because I was at my wits end, ready to try anything. Nightly, for a week, I washed my face with regular face wash, dried my face and applied After Inked on and around the bubble. It has since gone away and, though I had to give up on a nose stud, my nose is back to normal.
So I thought, ‘Well I am not going to pierce or tattoo anything again for a while. What will I do with the cream?’ I noticed that the cream has a very relaxing scent. I tried the cream on my face for a few nights and have decided that it works so well with my skin. I always had a very hard time finding a face cream that moisturizes without drying my skin or making it too oily.
The composition of the cream along with the natural scent makes it perfect for many things including tired eyes, after sun and just for regular nightly use. I hope that my anecdote can help others decide to try your product.

I just wanted to say that I LOVE AFTER INKED! I just had 4 sittings in the last 2 weeks on my leg and the color is vivid and awesome, no dryness on my leg at all.
The lotion feels great to the skin and it didn't stick to my clothes at all. Before I used a petroleum based product and another lotion product and it was not the same on my skin. I recently received some of your product to try after a recent tattoo. The flexibility allowed it to be much less itchy.
There is enough in the bottle to last you through many tattoos, and because of the pump, you don't have to worry about cross contamination.
Some things I noticed that would be helpful to let people know, a full squirt of the pump is likely too much for one application, push down a little each time so you don't get too much. As it is thick, when you're putting it on, you want to dab to spread and not smear. It does leave a bit of a layer on top so when you're in the shower be sure to soap up and wash it as needed.
All in all, I did like this product, it was easy to use and increased the comfort of the tattoo process. I had no flaking before it was ready.
